Carmel, a first grade college for women under Calicut University stands nestled in an idyllic locale in a small town called Mala near the southern tip of Thrissur district, the cultural capital of Kerala.
This college, which began in the year 1981, is run by the Sisters of the Congregation of Mother of Carmel who guided by their founders Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara and Rev. Fr. Leopold Boccaro have taken up the apostolate of education.
Our College secured “A” Grade with a CGPA of 3.22 in the Third Cycle of Re-accreditation process by NAAC. At this juncture, let me thank all the stake-holders of our College - the encouraging management, industrious teaching and non-teaching staff, active student community, loyal alumni and reliable parents - for the constant support, total commitment and dedication in successfully completing this process of reassessment. No doubt, the NAAC Peer Team visit motivated us to carry out a SWOC analysis of our College. Of course, we offer 13 UG courses, 8 PG courses, 2 B. Voc courses and 1 Community College course besides Career Oriented, Add-on and Skill Development Courses under various schemes. In addition to various clubs and forums, students are encouraged to participate in various curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Still, we have a lot to do.
We wake up every morning with two choices. Either one can go on with sleep with our dreams or wake up and follow our dreams. My dear ones, live your dreams through perspiration, patience, passion and perseverance with a persistent faith in the Universal Power. Prepare yourself for the best.
Let’s march towards excellence. May God continue to bless all of us to realize our vision and mission to empower women to a new world of light and love!
