“UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009” clearly mandates the prohibition of ragging in all forms by law from universities, colleges and educational institutions in the country. In compliance with the same, the institution has instituted an Anti-Ragging Committee to ensure that no instance of ragging is tolerated within the campus. Ragging involves any act, by disorderly conduct, to a student of an educational institution which causes or is likely to cause physical or physiological harm or raise apprehension or fear or shame or embarrassment to that student. The act includes teasing, abusing, or playing jokes on, or hurting a student and coercing to do any act which the student will not, in the ordinary course, willingly do.
If any incident of ragging is reported to the authority or Anti-Ragging Committee, it shall be subjected to prompt enquiry and strict action, depending on the nature and gravity of offence, will be taken against those found guilty.
