SC/ST Cell

SC/ST Cell

Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes have been identified as the two most backward groups of Indian Society. To ensure the effective implementation of the reservation policy in admission, recruitment, allotment of staff quarters, Hostels, etc. the Xth Plan profile of Higher Education incorporated the provisions for the establishment of the SC/ST Cells in the higher education institutions all over the country.

According to the UGC Guideline, Carmel College (Autonomous) Mala established the SC/ST Cell in the Campus. The cell fulfills the institutional assurance of parity in opportunity through various academic as well as non-academic programmes and also guides them to avail of all permissible scholarships, financial assistance, and other facilities. The SC/ST Cell exclusively looks after the work related to SC/STs matters in campus.

Objectives of the Cell
