The Department of Commerce came into being in 2005. B.Com Computer Application was started in 2005, B.Com Finance in 2014 and M.com in 2013. It offers academic excellence in the areas of financing, management, computer application, taxation and accounting.
To empower by providing theoretical and practical knowledge in economic activities, inculcating leadership qualities through the power of knowledge and enabling them to attain academic excellence.

The alumni association of Carmel college, department of commerce has been established in 2013.It has enabled seamless integration of the alumni members .The commerce department has a very strong foundation for its alumni association .It is now a team of 62 members. All are well settled and successful in their career. This association has helped to raise the profile of the college. The alumnae has always been very supportive and served as an inspiration for the students .The activities taken up by the alumni group has always boosted up the pride of the institution. The college conducts alumni meet annually .Every year alumni meet is conducted with the initiative of the commerce department .The meet has always had active participation of all the members. The teachers of this Department are very active in the association. The alumni group has been providing assistance to the students in various ways. This association has also helped to support the needy students and alumnus financially .The meet has become a remarkable event for reminiscing the good old memories.
