HISTORY


Department of Zoology was functioning from the very first time of the inception of Carmel College as it offered Zoology to the Pre-Degree science stream students. It made its full fledged existence in 2014 with B.Sc. Zoology course. At present, it offers zoology core course, complementary course to Botany and open course ’Reproductive Health and Sex Education” to all degree students. Two clubs ‘Aqua Club’ and ‘Life Club’ are actively functioning to promote the students to rise up with beautiful colours. The Department strives for the holistic development of the students by encouraging them to be excellent in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

VISION


Imparting insights on the dynamic world of life, to the young minds of budding zoologists, moulding them into intellectually competent, morally upright and scientifically inclined individuals, capable to unveil the mysteries of life and make them co-exist without tampering nature.

MISSION


  • Promote integrated development of students by inculcating a spirit of inquest through various academic and co-curricular activities.
  • Sensitize the students to the need of environment conservation.
  • Transfer knowledge about the various technologies in the field of research in life science, thereby contributing to the betterment of humanity.
