World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated annually on 5 June and is the United Nations’

principle vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of the environment.

First held in 1974, it has been a platform for raising awareness on environmental issue such

as marine pollution, human overpopulation, global warming, sustainable consumption and

wildlife crime.

As a part of International Environment Day, Department of Accounting and Taxation

organized Collage Making Competition on Biodiversity.

It was an inter-departmental competition and students from various departments participated

in it. 8 participants were in the competition and Ms. Asha Chathunni won the first prize.
