HISTORY
The department was officially established in 2001 with the initiation of the P.G Course. Prior to that, the department had been handling classes for pre-degree students from 1981 onwards and the subsidiary classes for degree Sociology started in 1984.The academic year 2014-15 witnessed the commencement of B.A. History.

The concept of Alumnae Association evolved with the aim of building a bridge between college life and career life. The idea took shape with the formation of Alumnae Association of the Department in the year 1983. The institution got the permission of the University to start MA History Course in the year 2001. The year2003 was a turning point in the journey of the Alumnae Association of the Department as it got a bunch of MA Degree holders as Alumnae. The Department has produced innumerable students through the years. Many students of the department have established themselves in various sectors, especially as accomplished teachers in various Higher Secondary Schools and colleges and keep in touch with the department as alumnae. One of our student, namely Soujiya K.R. had secured second rank in the final year MA Degree Examination of the University of Calicut in 2011. Besides, our student, Sr. Suja V J had obtained the title of University Topper of MA Degree Examination, 2014 of the University of Calicut.
